For dirt rally I REALLY like the detached paddle shifters because finding the right one to hit while making a hairpin for example can be difficult when the shifters are spinning with the wheel. The t500 just doesn't work in the ps menu but in game the buttons all function normally.Īlso, the t500 has the paddle shifters attached to the base and not the wheel with the option to change to a wheel that has attached shifters if preferred.

Thoughts and suggestions gratefully appreciated :-) but given that I'm a casual racer, is it really worth splashing out the extra for the T300 vs the G29? I know the T300 has better force feedback and feel but if I'm not hardcore, the G29 has gotta be loads better than my old Microsoft Wheel which has no FFB, right? I think I'm leaning towards the GT Omega on cost and space grounds. Playseat Challenge + (Logitech G29 £329) OR (Thrustmaster T300 RS £430 - top of my budget) GT Omega Stand + (Logitech G29 £260) OR (Thrustmaster T300 RS £360) Budget for everything right now (stand/seat + wheel) is between £250 - £450 so I know that I could probably get: I'm a casual racer but am keen to upgrade to a better rig. If I want to get a shifter later, it looks like its a bit of a hassle getting it securely fitted without doing some DIY - whereas its only a £10 upgrade for the GT Omega to get the right addon for fitting a shifter. I've got some space for the setup but not masses, so was considering either a Playseat Challenge or GT Omega Wheel stand with my current office chair (soon to be upgraded with locking caster wheels). Which leads me to the idea of upgrading the entire rig. I have an old Gameframe to mount the wheel on and it works 'ok' but not great. Using a CronusMax Plus I got my old Microsoft Wireless Wheel working with DriveClub VR and found it to be a pretty solid experience. Rather than creating another thread about 'best wheel & setup' I thought I'd ask here - Apologies in advance for the wall of text :)
